    Description

      this is needed to allow striping manipulation using FID.
      for example, for commands like lfs mirror create /mnt/lustre/.lustre/fid/[0x20000401:0x1:0x0]
      this is, in turn, is useful for utilities like automatic file replication which takes FIDs from LiPE and can save on fid2path and subsequent path traversal (number of sync RPCs)
