Using the statahead mechanism, the client should detect if files are being looked up in directory order and then opened + read. If that is the case, the client could start doing open+read RPCs in advance to fetch the DoM data to the client. We'd have to have a mechanism (timeout?) to close the pre-opened files if the application stopped this access pattern, or the statahead pattern was stopped. |
