 Description

In preparation for Lustre upgrade, I'm trying to build the RPMs and wondering if MOFED v4.2 is currently supported in 2.10.3?

I got the Lustre filesystem mounted but I'm not sure if I'm going to run into any issue later.

I am looking at the repo https://downloads.hpdd.intel.com/public/lustre/lustre-2.10.3/el7.4.1708/server/RPMS/x86_64/ but it's not the kernel that I'm running.

The kernel is Linux gt001 3.10.0-693.17.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Jan 25 20:13:58 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

and MOFED version is
$ ofed_info -s
MLNX_OFED_LINUX-4.2-1.2.0.0:

I'm just going to do this:
./configure --enable-server \ --with-o2ib=/usr/src/ofa_kernel/default

Thanks.

Gin

Yes MOFED 4.2 is supported with 2.10.3. We built with MOFED 4.2-1.2.0.0 at the time of the release but I would expect it to be possible to use slight variations on that version without problems.

Minh

Could you please help provide Gin with any guidance she needs to build successfully

Peter

Hi gtan,

Your ./configure is fine assuming that you have patched your kernel. If not, please review https://wiki.hpdd.intel.com/display/PUB/Building+Lustre+from+Source

Yep, I was using the patchless and I've just built the kernel RPMs.

I followed this instruction https://wiki.hpdd.intel.com/display/PUB/Building+Lustre+from+Source but it didn't mention that I need to use

 --without kabichk

but I found the other instruction here: http://wiki.lustre.org/Compiling_Lustre

Thanks.

The lustre.org instructions are meant to be the definitive ones. gtan do you have what you need now? Can we close the ticket?

Yep you may close this.

Thanks.
