Note this is not optional for us. Most of our file systems across the center are currently 2.8fe; all are currently running RHEL 7.4 but need to be upgraded to RHEL 7.5 to conform with our security pollicy. Clients are almost all 2.8fe. We don't have any local patches for kernel updates in our stack. You can see our stack in the lustre-release-fe-llnl project in gerrit, which we push our tags to. Our current internal 2.8 release is built from 2.8.2_1.chaos. |

While you work on getting ldiskfs built and tested under RHEL 7.5 (we only run servers on x86_64, FWIW), I built and am testing 2.8fe with ZFS backend on RHEL 7.5. This is my stack at the moment:
Which builds, and is at least minimally functional, but may well not be fully correct. |

According to my testing, 2.8fe also needs https://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/21260/ To run on RHEL 7.5 |

So I don't have to keep re-looking for this:

Hi Peter and Bob, |

Just to clarify, I meant I didn't review patches I felt unqualified to review. Not that I have any concerns about the patches. |
