It seems that the difference between the starting and ending values is usually 12, or occasionally 16. This is well within the margin of error for the test, since there may be inodes held in the per-cpu slab cache or similar that are not freed. This is kernel specific, and may also depend on SLAB vs. SLUB vs. SLOB usage. |
