OSD-MDT Feature test plan

Area of change: use of LOD/OSP instead of LOV/OSC on MDS

  • test OST object pre-creation and destroy

Area of change: IO Performance with new obdfilter

  • IO performance testing on Hyperion with new obdfilter (OFD) to verify there is no regression on IO performance for this new filter

Area of change: Quota and Grant

  • Quota being properly tested with test plan for LU-1920
  • Test grant by using currently disabled grant regression sanity tests with ldiskfs OST to ensure grant works fine

Area of change: llog

  • use llog_test to verify no regression in performance do to this change

Area of change: DNE changes to MDT/MDD on MDS

  • performance regression tests for metadata stack
  • Notes for this item:
    • it's better to run on Toro or Rosso, not Hyperion, because Toro and Rosso have much better CPUs (more cores, faster)
    • MDS doesn't require super faster storage as MDT, but it has to have fast journal device, let's say, SSD or just ramdisk.
    • 16 client nodes is a good number to generate enough workload on MDS, but if it's too difficult to get this number, then 12, 10 or even 8 might work.

Hello Doug,

About the Grant test, I don't quite get what you mean, could you please git more detailed information? Thanks in advanced.

Here is the grant part I don't understand:
"Test grant by using currently disabled grant regression sanity tests with ldiskfs OST to ensure grant works fine"

Closing ticket as it was finished and all sub-tasks were finished too
