There is a new ->fadvise() method in the file_operations that can provide hints to the Lustre client, for example disabling Lustre readahead for random IO, or immediately starting readahead for sequential IO. For older kernels, it may also be useful to check the FMODE_RANDOM flag in the file descriptor to disable Lustre readahead. |
