The sub-test test_59 failed with the following error:

there is no bug found in the logs, and this bug occurs mostly at Orion branch, this is the only one failed at 2.1.2 RC2,
and there is also a bug ORI-628 to track the same issue, it's better to duplicate this one as ORI-628, for it is more easy
to reproduce at Orion.

btw, this bug seems only occur at x86_64 + i686 (server + client) architecture.

Please, don't do that. ORI-628 is about ZFS only, moreover if bug happens in master it must be LU- otherwise nobody will work on it thinking this is not master bug.

hm, x86_64 vs i686 is a suspicious combination, we reverted lu969 recently (from b2_1) to fix some other errors for such a combination.
Any chances this was related too and a retest with fresh b2_1 would help?

The failure reported in this ticket occurred on Lustre b2_1 build http://build.whamcloud.com/job/lustre-b2_1/86, which is v2_1_2_RC2, and which has LU-969 reverted.

The issue did not occur consistently. The recovery-small test 59 passed on another test session with the same distro/arch combination, test nodes and Lustre build:
