Description

currently, srp initiator and target modules are disabled by lbuild when it builds kernel-ib RPM.
What's reason of disabling this module? We don't need SRP target module, but want to include SRP initiator module in kernel-ib.

IIRC, we were advised by upstream (i.e. OFA) that we should be using the iscsi provided by the kernel when we found problems building various parts of the OFED stack. See http://bugs.openfabrics.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1764.

I've tested lbuild with "--with-srp-mod" to latest OFED (OFED-1.5.4.1) on RHEL5.7 and RHEL6.2's kernel with master branch and compiling of kernel-ib was no problem.

When using external OFED it is not possible to use the inkernel srp module, we currently patch lbuild to build srp as part of the OFED build.

Is there any chance of this being backported to the 2.1 branch? Currently can't use SRP on the 2.1 branch using the whamcloud built rpms:
