When mirroring files between 2 different pools, for example a ssd and hdd pool, both copies are counted against the users quota. Typically we only care about space on the hdd pool. If we turn off quota, at the ldiskfs, on the ssd pools could that be a simple work around for this issue? |

Mahmoud, I would not recommend that. It’s definitely not supported to have quota enabled on only some targets and would at least confuse some tools if not crash the system. There is a new feature, pool quotas, which can do exactly what you’re looking for by allowing different quota settings for different pools. It was released with Lustre 2.14 and will therefore be in the upcoming 2.15 maintenance release. |

This can be resolved by usage of the pool quotas feature in 2.14 and newer. |
