| Description |
|
Create a filesystem image with Lustre 2.3.0 for use by conf-sanity.sh test_32() in later releases of Lustre. This allows testing that the newer releases of Lustre can upgrade a filesystem that was previously formatted and used at the earlier version. |

Is there a reason we need multiple static image tarballs in test? This seems like code bloat. Sorry I don't know much about this specific test but this seems odd. |

Keith, the whole point of these test images is to allow testing that Lustre version X can mount and use filesystems that were formatted with Lustre version X-1, X-2, etc. The only way to test such an upgrade is to actually format the filesystem with that earlier version of Lustre, and mount it with the current version of Lustre. Doing that at runtime would be very complex, while creating static filesystem images with version X-1, X-2, (or version X for use in the future with X+1) is relatively easy. |

Since we are already working on 2.5 it also makes sense to create an image from b2_4. |
