 Description

Sanity 27A failed when we tried to run tests. We found that after clearing the stripe of Lustre root directry, it will takes seconds before the stripe is updated actually. We can reproduce the problem easily by running the script attached.

The delay of stripe updating may due to the delay of config log processing. It may not be easy to change this behavior, so I changed the test suit. I will push the patch soon.

Hello Li,
You did not indicate which version of Lustre you use, but anyway I am able to reproduce it with current master !
Thank's for the test patch already, and I will try to provide update soon.

Hello Li,

Hello Li Xi,

Stripe count of /mnt/lustre is by default 1. Though update takes time, getstripe should return 1 rather than -1 as 1 is the default value. How wait_update helps here ?

# lfs getstripe /mnt/lustre
/mnt/lustre
stripe_count: 1 stripe_size: 1048576 stripe_offset: -1

Please help me understand this. Thanks in advance.
