 Description

We recently upgraded 2.1 servers with ldiskfs backend to 2.4. lfs quota from a 2.1 client is now returning ENOTSUPP. On the MDS boot messages I notice:

LDISKFS-fs (sdb): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. quota=off. Opts:

Whereas before the upgrade we had:

2013-08-17 17:29:09 LDISKFS-fs (sdb): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts:

From digging around Jira (i.e. LU-3784) I gather a tunefs.lustre --quota may have been required. But that can't be the problem, because I'm sure we would never neglect to mention such an important step in the release notes or user manual.

Nevermind, I see this is covered in the current manual. I was looking at an old copy.
