Hi,

It is very convenient to be able to set all Lustre client tuning parameters (max_pages_per_rpc, max_rpcs_in_flight, ...) right after having Lustre mounted.
Unfortunately, with Lustre 2.4 we are unable to set max_pages_per_rpc tunable for osc associated to an unavailable target. This is annoying as we do not necessarily know when the targets will become available.

I will propose a patch to address this issue.

Patch landed for 2.6. Landings to b2_4 and b2_5 will be considered in due course.
