During the investigation of LU-4800 various significant flaws in the module startup code paths of both obdclass.ko and lustre.ko were discovered. Patches to address some of these issues were developed along the way and later discarded as not necessary parts of a fix for LU-4800. This ticket is to track such code fixes and make sure they aren't lost.
Among those issues were expanded and improved error exits in init_lustre_llite. There's a clear need for similar fixes in init_obdclass too, but that wasn't done in any LU-4800 patches.
