Lustre server builds of 1.8.x on el6 aren't supported, as indicated in lustre/ChangeLog of b1_8.
For client builds the unlanded patch for LU-2800 back ported to b1_8 is needed; http://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/8607. With that pacth added client builds of 1.8.9 on current el6 work.

We can easily produce a client only build for b1_8 on a 6.5 kernel, but need to know the exact kernel version needed. Current supported (and latest) kernel version in el6.5 is 2.6.32-431.20.3.el6. Is that what is wanted or is it some different version?

Hi,

the version kernel 2.6.32-431.20.3.el6 is correct .

build is done. prebuilt rpms may be downloaded at https://build.hpdd.intel.com/job/lustre-reviews/24790/arch=x86_64,build_type=client,distro=el6,ib_stack=inkernel/artifact/artifacts/RPMS/x86_64

Hi All.
I'm having the same problem but I couldn't download the revision you mentioned above. My original ticket was duplicated (LU-5269).

Would be possible to make that build available on Jenkins? I can't find the review 24790 anymore.

Thank you,
Carlos.

review builds are only kept on Jenkins for a limited time. Your only permanent solutions are apply the patch yourself & do your own build or wait for it to land in a supported b1_8 release.

Hi Bob, no problem. I can build myself.

Could you please just point me out which patch(es) I need and where it can be download?

Thanks,
Carlos

Bob – Are we OK to mark this ticket as resolved?

Thanks,

no, I don't think so. won't be resolved until the mod actually lands in b1_8.

Comment by Peter Jones [ 18/Dec/14 ]

I think that it is ok to mark this ticket as resolved. We would only land patches such as this to b1_8 if/when we are working on a 1.8.10 release
