Or even better integrate the Gemini driver into the 1.8 whamcloud branch. I have such a patch.

If there are any patch contributions that people would like landed then the author (or someone else who has the rights to assign the copyright) should upload the patch into gerrit. As I understand it, Cray have been targeting landing all the GNI changes into a 2.x release and this is tracked by tickets ~~LU-443~~ to ~~LU-449~~

Ashley I can submit the patch to gerrit for you if you want from the above bugzilla. We have been running it for awhile at the lab as well.

It looks like Nic Henke was the patch author so it should really be either him or at least someone from Cray who uploads the patch into gerrit

Nic pushed the patch to bz 23884 attachment 31892. I just asked for landing permission to 1.8.7 there. If you still need us to push to gerrit separately, we can do that.

Patch didn't pass Maloo, but looks like both failures, ost-pools test 14 and obdfilter-survey test 1b, are existing bugs ~~LU-797~~ and ~~LU-746~~ respectively.

This patch also saw a failure, ost-pools test 23, which looks a lot like ~~LU-745~~. However, this was supposed to be fixed in b1_8 back in december, so I wonder if the patch landed for ~~LU-745~~ was effective.

While building a whamcloud 1.8 release I discovered that ~~LU-554~~ is already applied to the tree. Chris you can abandon the patches and close this ticket. See git commit 184b52d5632908fbf6fef4ed85a02a5bb53c34f9
