Attachments: File machinefile_option.patch
Severity: 3
Rank (Obsolete): 6561

 Description

Not all MPI implementations pass the host file to mpirun via the same
option. Common options are -machinefile and -hostfile. Modify mpi_run
to use MACHINEFILE_OPTION instead.

The attached patch showed we replaced "-machinefile" with $MACHINEFILE_OPTION. It does not need to be named that way. Just a meaning variable will be fine. Also, our patch did not give a default value should MACHINEFILE_OPTION not defined. Maybe cfg/local.sh a good place?

Jay

It would be really helpful if you could upload patches into gerrit - http://wiki.whamcloud.com/display/PUB/Submitting+Changes

Thanks

Peter

Peter,

Can I kill this bug report? I like to remove the line:
Signed-off-by: Jason Rappleye <jason.rappleye@nasa.gov>

After reading implication of Signed-off-by in gerrit documentation, I decided
I should not have included Jason here.

Do you mean that you would like to cancel the patch from gerrit or to close this ticket or both?

Comment by Jay Lan (Inactive) [ 31/Aug/11 ]

The patch is in gira, but I have not submitted it to gerrit.
I like to close this ticket and submit a new one since
the "Signed-off-by Jason" clause is in the description.

I am learning your system.

Jay
