 Description

Looks like LU-4017 project quotas will be part of 2.10 master branch.
What is status of userspace tools ?

I see there has been patched fo lfs & lctl.
Do e2fsprogs need updating ?
Is there roadmap/timeline to update e2fsprogs to support project quotas ?

thanks

Yes e2fsprogs will need updating and those changes were submitted for review ahead of the Lustre changes and landed last summer. You might want to connect with Ihara at DDN to get the details about DDN's plans in this area.

Thanks Peter,
AFAIK, current e2fsprogs version for lustre is 1.42 but project quota support added to 1.43 builds.

I recommend upgrade to latest e2fsprogs available from whamcloud when running e2fsck. Until newer e2fsprogs is available I can't make that recommendation. Alternative is local patched version of e2fsprogs.

Chris

You are correct that the latest e2fsprogs will not suffice for usage with project quotas. We'll either need to issue a 1.42 version with the necessary patches or rebase on 1.43.

I believe that this is fixed with the latest version of e2fsprogs

 Peter,

Do you know which e2fsprogs version ?

I guess backported fixes from v 1.43

IIUC it was in 1.42.13.wc5 that was available at the time 2.10.0 went GA.
