On one of our clusters we are running version 2.1.3-2.6.32. We are needing to expand the file system on new existing hardware - servers purchased at the same time for this future expansion. Currently we have two OST's with 3x16TB LUNS each. The MDT is 3TB. We have outgrown this. We want to add 4 OST's with 2x16TB LUNS each. We will need to add an MDT as well. I want to verify this plan and also make sure that adding an MDT to this version is possible and will increase available inodes? |

Tony Probably the simplest option for outgrowing your MDT is to enlarge the size of the existing MDT rather than adding an extra MDT. As for upgrading, I would recommend that you upgrade first to a 2.5.x based release - that's the largest upgrade jump possible from 2.1.x, still supports RHEL 6.x servers and will provide you with options to move on to more current releases if/when you choose to do so.
