is related to LU-1962 Add --lazy flag to lctl df Resolved
Business Value: 6.5
Rank (Obsolete): 8456

 Description

If one or more OSTs are active yet unavailable, standard 'df' will hang unless the lazystatfs option is specified. [Additionally, 'lfs df' can be used instead.]

The option should be documented in the Ops Manual. It should be noted that the reported information will be inaccurate (and that there is no way to tell from 'df' that that is the case).

There is actually a mount option (namely lazystatfs, added in 1.8.0) which allows statfs to skip inactive OSTs. This feature can also be enabled on a live system with "lctl set_param llite.*.lazystatfs=1"
