| Description |
|
In the Lustre operations manual, the section ("14.8.1. Removing a MDT from the File System") describing DNE makes reference to a command "lfs rmdir" when deleting a remote directory entry. This command does not exist; instead, one should invoke the normal rmdir command to remove a DNE remote directory. |

Instead of "lfs rmdir" there is the "lfs rm_entry" command that allows deleting a directory entry for a remote DNE directory on an MDT that is no longer available. "rm -r" should be used if the remote MDT is still available. |
