This ticket is open to track the Lustre documentation updates necessary to reflect the new feature landed in master for release 2.8: support of multiple modify RPCs in flight LU-5319.

Here are the sections of the Operational Manual that might need to be updated:

  • 26. Tuning a Lustre File System. A new subsection should be created to describe how to tune the number of modify RPCs in parallel to improve client metadata performance
  • 31.3. Reply Reconstruction. The section should be updated to mention the new internal file "reply_data" that stores the reply data on disk.
