I've been tasked with creating this documentation. Do you have any suggestions as to where in the manual the documentation should land? |

Thanks for this Chris. Can you add in a label for the Lustre version this feature will be present in? Also, is there an LU ticket you can link to? |

The ultimate destination is the Operations Manual: https://build.hpdd.intel.com/job/lustre-manual/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/lustre_manual.xhtml |

Hi Richard, The LU for the feature is 3291: The feature is currently a technology preview in 2.7, with more landing in 2.8, but the documentation will reflect features up to 2.9. I would edit the label to 2.9, but it doesn't seem I have the permissions to. Would a section in the operation manual heading III (Administering Lustre), between 22-23 be an appropriate location for this documentation? It should include a description and example use case of the nodemap feature. |

Location sounds good, and outline sounds good. |

Hi Richard, I seem to be in a Gerrit rabbit-hole in which I cannot reset my password, and my current password does not work (although it works just fine here in HPDD Jira). Can I attach the new LustreNodemap.xml file and one-line change to III_LustreAdministration.xml here for review? |

Yes, you can attached it here. I'm curious about your Gerrit issue: which auth provider do you use? |

Thanks. I used HPDD auth (https://id.hpdd.intel.com/openidserver/). Perhaps that isn't what I think it is. I've attached both files. LustreNodemap.xml is brand new, and the only change to III_LustreAdministration was to add a line for the new file. Any feedback is welcome. The git commit was to be: Added a chapter in the Lustre manual to describe the |

I've checked and the HPDD auth provider does not allow anyone other than HPDD employees to authenticate against Gerrit. You must use a Google account, a Yahoo account, or an other OpenID provider to log into Gerrit. |

Thanks for getting this together Chris, it's way better than anything I would have written. I uploaded it to gerrit and added some comments and suggestions. Also, there's at least one place in the manual that references the need to have client UIDs and GIDs matched on the MDS. Ideally these would mention nodemap now. Here's the one I saw: |
