In the current Lustre manual, it states that the length of an OST pool is up to 16 characters: The pool name is an ASCII string up to 16 characters. Yet, the real maximum pool name length is 15 characters. Using a recent master (2.8.53) build: mgs# lctl pool_new scratch.1234567890123456 poolname 1234567890123456 is too long (max is 15) argument scratch.1234567890123456 must be <fsname>.<poolname> pool_new: File name too long The text in the manual should probably read something like |
