Looking at https://build.whamcloud.com/job/lustre-manual/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/lustre_manual.html, http://doc.lustre.org/lustre_manual.xhtml, and http://doc.lustre.org/lustre_manual.pdf each has the title "Lustre* Software Release 2.x". Buried somewhere after the TOC I see Revision History Revision 0 Built on 10August201817:56:52ZContinuous build of Manual. So it took a while to hard to know if I was looking at an uptodate version of the manual. The build date info shold be moved up to be just after the title. And we should try to tell the reader exactly which versions of Lustre the manual is currently lying about.

It appears that the version is buried too deep from the top of the document due to how the Docbook processing works. By default, it always renders the copyright info first and then the version info second. Our copyright is huge and my blind guess is that it was just easier to accept the default than to figure out how to get Docbook to print out the version before the copyright. The result is a separate section after the copyright to print out the version. I'll do some experimentation to see if I can get it to do that. |
