https://jira.whamcloud.com This file is an XML representation of an issue en-us 9.4.14 940014 05-12-2023 https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-16661 Lustre <p>It would be good to add a "<tt>Recommends</tt>" or "Suggests" <tt>bash-completion</tt> to the <tt>lustre-client-utils</tt> and <tt>lustre-server-utils</tt> .deb packages (and also .rpm packages if that functionality exists today).</p> <p>The "<tt>lctl get_param</tt>" command greatly benefits from having <tt>bash-completion</tt> to provide parameter names, and the other "<tt>lctl</tt>" and "<tt>lfs</tt>" commands like "<tt>lfs find</tt>" and also have completions for many of options, added in <a href="https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-12734" title="bash completion (for now: lctl set/get_param)" class="issue-link" data-issue-key="LU-12734"><del>LU-12734</del></a> and <a href="https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-13225" title="add bash completion for lfs" class="issue-link" data-issue-key="LU-13225"><del>LU-13225</del></a>.</p> <p>I don't want to <tt>Depend</tt> or <tt>Require</tt> that package, but it should be installed when possible. I was recently debugging on a client node that didn't have bash-completion installed, and it was more painful than I would like, so regular users should also benefit from these improvements.</p> LU-16661
