Are your 1.8.x changes focused on restoring broader SLES support?</p> <p>I'd love to collaborate with you and Vladimir on the 2.1 patches.</p> <p>For 1.8.6 yes the work was to restore the SP0 support. I have a patch which I can make against whamclouds git for b1_8. Both SP0 and SP1 are supported at the same time. </p> <p>Okay I just pushed my SuSE changes for whamcloud b1_8. The whamcloud tree not in sync with the Oracle tree which now causes SP1 to not build on the whamcloud branch. I have SuSE port for SP0 and SP1 against the whamcloud branch. Same as the above changeset. If you follow the link you will see the notes against which kernel it builds against. Cray has reported positive feedback and has incorporated into their tree.</p> <p>Andreas I have looked at your suggestion of cleaning up enable-ext4. So I tested the build with disable-ext4 to see what happens and it exposed a lot of dependencies that have been hidden. For example in lustre/autoconf/lustre-core.m4 we have a test for ext4_discard_preacllocations which don't test for the enable-ext4 flag. So for this release perhaps we should just fail the build if ext4 is not available. What do you think?</p> <p>Broke up the patch as Andreas suggested. I don't think there is any value in adding SP0 support back for 1.8.8.
