Instead of sending the unlink cookies to the client and then to the OST, instead the MDS destroys OST objects directly, but only after the transaction is committed on the MDT.</p> <p>Clients working with MDS versions 2.4.0 and later do not need to handle cookies, so the relevant code can be removed once we no longer need client interoperability with older servers (2.3.0 and older).</p> <p>John made a patch <a href="http://review.whamcloud.com/12922" class="external-link" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">http://review.whamcloud.com/12922</a> to clean this up already.</p> LU-6017
