[LU-606] port bz24050 (Add alternative servers start order) https://jira.whamcloud.com/browse/LU-606 Lustre <p>Issue:</p> <p>When newly created mdt registers itself, mgs erases all the logs for that particular fs, which fails client mount.</p> <p>Fix:</p> <p>Add alternative server start orders to enable MGS->MDT(s)<del>>OST(s) as well as MGS</del>>OST(s)->MDT(s) order. </p> LU-606

Could you please take a look whether it could be ported to the b1_8 branch? If yes, I think we need change the default services start order <em>back</em> to "MGS->OST(s)->MDT(s)" in lustre_start script and make "-s" option to be used only for starting the services with the order of "MGS->MDT(s)->OST(s))" after a writeconf.</p> <p>I consulted Hongchao, and get to know that b1_8 is lack of mechanism to extract OST logs from client logs when writing MDT log, the porting would involvs adding this part which would not be a simple job, so Let's just use this workaround in b1_8 branch.</p> <blockquote><p>Let's just use this workaround in b1_8 branch.</p></blockquote> <p>OK, got it.<br/> BTW, Bobi, I found we'd better port the patch for bug 24464 to our b1_8 branch also.
