[LU-858] Support for Linux kernel 3.1 (Fedora 16)

After pulling the latest master via git, running the autogen.sh, and trying './configure --with-linux=/usr/src/kernels/3.1.1-1.fc16.x86_64', it fails to configure due to module building issues.
