&lt;p&gt;Because the server modules require ldiskfs to properly function, the lustre-module rpms should really require the ldiskfs rpm. Currently because there are no dependencies between the two, the lustre-modules can get installed before the ldiskfs modules, and harmless but worrisome error messages pop up on the screen.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;It seems that the automatically-detected kernel support is not the same as specifying --disable-server (which I assume works for client-only RPMs or this issue would have been reported before now).&lt;/p&gt;</comment>
