&lt;p&gt;From what I have read of the document, there appears to be no reason to add a new terms beyond &quot;MDT&quot; and &quot;client&quot;.  Those fully explain to users/administrators of lustre where to run commands.  It would appear to me that &quot;coordiantor&quot; and &quot;agent&quot; are internal implentation details, and by exposing them to users we can only introduce more confusion.&lt;/p&gt;
