it's too bad for us to have duplicate work.

class_register_type() will register echo_thread/session_key, that's to say, any keys_init() after registering echo_client will have to allocate a echo_thread_key. However, there is a gap between registering echo_client device and kmem.

            Is this clear?

Jinshan, could you describe how echo_caches may be used before lu_kmem_init()? You mentioned that fact but without any details.

test fixes are correct but problem is not awk, it is able to work with >1024 bytes. The problem is lprocfs_rd_import in Lustre and it is not fixed. LU-615 tries to do that.
