Problem is definitely in patch, which has repeatedly hit the same failures for each version, and is the only patch failing those tests.

James, given that the patch https://review.whamcloud.com/41664 "LU-14428 libcfs: replace tracefile buffer with ring_buffer" being tested is modifying the debug logging, and this test failed because a specific message was not logged in the debug buffer, I'm inclined to think that the problem is a regression in the patch itself.
