Oleg mentioned in https://review.whamcloud.com/c/fs/lustre-release/+/51440 that obd_evict_inprogress is unused. That atomic was only ever incremented by lprocfs_evict_client_open which was remove in that patch (for being unused). The patch associated with this ticket will remove the variable altogether.
