How does this terminology compare to existing RAID publications/implementations? As much as possible, we should use the same terminology to describe the EC implementation to minimize confusion. In https://www.pdl.cmu.edu/PDL-FTP/Declustering/ASPLOS.pdf it refers to this as a "data stripe unit", and has a "parity stripe unit" for the parity.

This will touch a lot of different parts that are from different patches, many of which have not yet landed, so defer until they have all landed.
