In the main Dynamic LNet Config ticket LU-2456, Andreas put some end user feedback asking whether the functionality in lnetctl should not also exist in lctl along with all the other LNet commands in that utility.

This ticket was created to consider doing this work for 2.8. We should discuss here the value of such an improvement.
