    Description

      Hi,

I believe the Lustre Manual has to be update about Inode ratio size (Section 5.3.1).

It seems this "old" discussion brings precision: http://lists.lustre.org/pipermail/lustre-discuss-lustre.org/2018-February/015308.html

It is written: "It is recommended to use an inode ratio at least 1024 bytes larger than the inode size to ensure the MDT does not run out of space. Increasing the inode ratio to include enough space for the most common file data (e.g. 5120 or 65560 bytes if 4KB or 64KB files are widely used) is recommended for DoM."

We could modify it, something like that:

"It is recommended to use an inode ratio at least 1024 bytes larger than the inode size to ensure the MDT does not run out of space (default inode ratio is 2560 bytes). Increasing the inode ratio to include enough space for the most common file data (e.g. 5656 or 68096 bytes if 4KB or 64KB files are widely used) is recommended for DoM."

      Does it make sense?
