    Description

The latest version of change http://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/5520/
make it cumbersome for users to configure the build environment  when simply running builds without packaging support (i.e make -f Makefile ).

The Makefile, README and wsconfig.sh should be aligned with the concept http://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/5520/ . Users should have to edit a single environment variable in file wsconfig.sh only to build with make command only.

            [LU-9050] Wireshark build support enhancement

I've pushed the lustre wireshark plugins upstream, so that they won't live in our repo any longer. See LU-6353

Yes, I'd try including ubuntu in wsconfig.sh. Create your branch from the master branch of the lustre-release repo when creating the review.

Since we now have ubuntu builder, shouldn't we update wsconfig.sh to include ubuntu? or should we stop building it altogether since it's (wireshark) included in b_ieel as per Frank's?

We currently have ubuntu in the builder list and after http://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/22074/ what actions does DCO need to take for wireshark build support?

            Reopening into TEI backlog

This is a more general ticket for wireshark support. Putting as low priority until we get time to address

Per Triage, we don't compile against Ubuntu and we don't have Ubuntu in our build environment. If this is needed in the future, someone can open up a ticket and we'll plan to address then

            Andi:
The work was postponed last year. I don't whether there a necessity to finish the tickets (TEI- 82, 133, 356).
I think wireshark is part of b_ieel now (if I remember correctly from release notes), so the tickets mentioned above might can be closed by 'won't fix'.?
Otherwise the change was close to land last year actually. Only problem was that the build environment for Ubuntu wasn't complete and therefore wireshark couldn't be build for this distro.

To build via just typing "make" I believe I fixed with my patch on LU-3135. I was building via just "make install", but on Fedora 17.
